StarCut - laser fine cuttingStarCut® 18/150/300

Sharp-edged Cuts

The production of a great variety of components in the medical device, fine mechanics, telecommunication or semiconductor industries requires highly precise, fine but also flexible cuts with excellent edge quality. The laser is the supreme tool for achieving this task. Efficient laser sources made for this purpose feature high pulse frequencies and excellent beam quality. The StarCut series combines these characteristics; the flashlamp-pumped solid-state lasers offer superb cut finish at high speed using a compact design with an attractive price.

Optimized Beam Quality

All StarCut laser sources provide an optimized resonator design and achieve pulse frequencies of up to 3,000 Hz with best pulse to pulse stability, with powers up to 300 W. These lasers are ideal for cutting almost all metal materials such as alloyed and non-alloyed steels, non-ferrous metals, precious metals and shape memory alloys. Intensity distribution and pulse shape of the laser beam can easily be adjusted to the application.

Finest Cuts

The StarCut lasers process metals with a thickness of up to 2 mm and achieve cutting speeds of up to 50 mm/sec. Cutting finest kerfs of for example 18 µm width in 0.1 mm stainless steel is no problem - with minimal burr and edge taper. The heat affected zone is not larger than a few microns - depending on the material. CNC- controlled laser systems from ROFIN allow cuts in any geometrical form.

Well-Established and Reliable

ROFIN is the market leader in the production of lasers for material processing. The StarCut laser sources are well-established and stand for well-proven technology used in industry worldwide. The international branch offices and representatives of the ROFIN group guarantee a quick response service and support all over the world.
